One of my favorites go-to recipes is an Easy Homemade Jam. It is kid-friendly, whole food, and something you can eat by the spoonful if you prefer!
My key ingredient and trick to thicken it is Chia Seeds! These little, kind of tasteless seeds are very much packed full of nutritional value! They are high in fiber, full of antioxidants, and a good source of healthy fats.

Using a High-Speed Blender like a Vitamix does an amazing job at breaking down the chia seeds, and they become a thickener without the seed texture. This is great for kids who are texture-sensitive. If your blender doesn't break it down completely to make it smooth - the taste does NOT change, just the texture. Both ways are great!
